Inclusion & Accessibility
All Abilities Rugby League
The All Abilities program ensures rugby league is accessible to everyone, creating opportunities for people of all abilities to take part in the game and feel part of the community around it.
With the support of the Maroons Foundation, clubs, schools and local communities are equipped to deliver inclusive programs that remove barriers and open the door to participation. It’s about making sure ability is never a reason someone misses out.
For many participants, this is where confidence is built and connections are formed. It’s not just about playing footy, it’s about belonging, being included, and having a place in the game
Cultural Carnivals
QRL maintains a strong commitment to Cultural Rugby League Carnivals by proudly facilitating key events across the state, including two major cultural carnivals annually – the Queensland Murri Carnival and the Queensland Pacific Islands Cultural Carnival (QPICC).
The Murri Carnival is backed by the Arthur Beetson Foundation and is a 10-day event for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander teams.
The flagship QPICC celebration showcases Pasifika pride and community spirit, bringing together junior and senior teams that represent the cultures of Samoa, the Cook Islands, Papua New Guinea, Niue, Fiji, Tonga and Aotearoa Māori.
These events play a vital role in fostering inclusivity, cultural pride, and healthy lifestyles within Queensland’s diverse communities.
Regional & Remote Carnivals
With vast distances and diverse communities across the state, the QRL is dedicated to ensuring that players, coaches, officials, and fans in remote and regional areas have the same opportunities to participate, develop, and thrive in the game.
By proudly supporting events right across the state, the Maroons Foundation and QRL demonstrate a strong commitment to regional and remote rugby league. These carnivals offer players, coaches and parents a genuine taste of Queensland’s renowned country hospitality, while creating opportunities to form new friendships in a team‑focused environment.
Through the support of the Maroons Foundation, the QRL is breaking down barriers and making sure every young Queenslander—whether they’re from
the Cape, the Outback, or the Coast—can dream big, play hard, and be part of something greater.
